Garden Tips
March in the Garden
With the end of February and the first part of March being so unusually warm I am sitting here not quite sure myself what I should be doing in my own yard and garden! So my advice…don’t get too ahead of yourself, be cautious in planting annuals and tender perennials. Plan garden beds and prepare with compost. Start seeds indoors or in a greenhouse. Now is the time to plant summer flowering bulbs.. Dahlias, gladiolus, elephant ears, just to name a few.
If you haven’t already, mow your grass (I mowed mine twice in February, wow). Maintenence and clean-up are crutial for healthy plants going into a new growing season, if you neglected fall/winter clean-up, it’s not to late, do it now!!
Here’s to a fantastic March and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!
